Walnut Cottage was originally built in the 16th century and has been carefully restored to a high standard with beams, stone walls and a large granite fireplace.
The cottage is open plan, kichen/dining/lounge there is a wood burner and electric wall heaters. The mezzanine bedroom sleeps two people, it has slopping ceilings and overlooks the granite fireplace which extends up to the roof.
The kichen is small but well equipped with a hob, oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and George Forman Grill. The bathroom is on the ground floor, it has a built in wash basin with a vanity unit, large mirror, shower and a WC.

Walnut Cottage is 5 minutes drive from the historic town of Vire, there are many restaurants and sporting activities in the vicinity, indoor swimming pools, golf, fishing, pedlo's / boat hire, off road cycle paths and local markets.
English hosts Julie and Nigel live onsite, so are readily available with advice or assisstance if needed. Our aim is to provide a relaxing, enjoyable holiday for everyone who visits our homes, whatever your needs. We take a very flexible approach, recognising everyone has different expectations so please email us if there is anything we can do to make your holiday more enjoyable.

The Western Manche coast has long beaches and thick fine sand. At Granville there are beautiful beaches and many seafood restaaurants on the Port.
The Bayeux Tapestry, Domfront, Fourges, the Landing Beaches in the North, Mont Saint Michel which is surrounded by a magnificent bay and the British War Cemetary.
Vire has an 18 hole municipal Golf Course that is very well maintained and overlooks Lac de la Dathee. You can take part in water sports, go fishing or stroll around the 5km perimeter and enjoy the peace and quiet at one of the many picnic areas. The lake is bordered in parts by forests and also has a weir and a small waterfall.
At the hillside town of Mortain the river slices through the rocky gorges down to the woodland basin of the Selune River, creating spectacular waterfalls with scenic walks and picnic spots. The mightiest La Grande Cascade is the largest waterfall in the North and West of France.
The River See is renowned for being one of the best Salmon and Trout Rivers in France. You can go fly fishing in Brousains or in Vengeons.
The area is great for walking and cycling, with many marked trails - two of which are 5 minutes from the cottage. The Velorail at Pont Erambourg is an eight mile return biking cicuit and takes around one hour and forty five minutes to complete.
